Real Life Story of Manjhi - The Mountain Man

Friends, There are just few days left for the launch of movie on Dashrath Manjhi - The Mountain Man. This movie is based on real life story of Dashrath Manjhi. He was a poor labor of Gehlaur village (Gaya District) Bihar, India that become the witnessed of true lover.

One side we have a story of Shah Jahan. Under his observation, more than 20000 labors worked for 17 years to build Taj Mahal and it becomes the symbol of love. And on the another side, we have a story of Dashrath Manjhi who break 360 feet long, 25 feet deep and 30 feet wide mountain ALONE.  Lets know why he had broken it.

There is a mountain between Vajirganj & Gehlaur which created a road block to reach at hospital. People need to travel 70 K.M. to get medical facility.

In 1959, his wife cannot be saved due to become too late to reach at hospital. He gets depressed, he don't found any ways to gets out from this stress.

After that his one decision makes him alive for century. He decided to break mountain to shorten the way to reach at hospital; Rather than rue, he set an ideal example for his wife and society that if a common man set adamant goal of a life, the mountain can also bow itself.

In 1960, with the help of just two small apparatus Mahnaji started to break a mountain alone. People Started laughing on his decision. But he does not get demoralize, he started working day and night. Mahnji told that "a few people encouraged him by providing feed service". He fights with the mountain for 22 years. In 1982, he defeats the mountain.

Now the distance between his village & hospital become just 15 K.M. People started getting various services like education, medical facility and so no. They started calling him as Mountain Man.

In 2006, Government of Bihar recommended his name for the reputed award "PadmShree".  Than after the present Chief Minister Shri Nitishkumar has approved the Dashrath Mahnji Road and Hospital.

On the age of 73 years, 17 Aug 2007; he left this earth due to cancel disease. But his name is still alive.  The Film Director Mr. Ketan Mehta made a movie call "Mahnji - The mountain Man" by inspiring this story.

What definition should I give to his love, A Love for wife or Nation?  Love has no boundaries think if he limits his definition of love to his wife only. Should his work shout at such a large-scale?

Small decision may change the world; this is what we have learned from the Dashrath Mahnji. He has made a goal of his entire life that he wants to do one good thing for society. Presently his work is helping hundreds of lives.
